If I'm not borrowing the Jeep, I'm using the Ford Escape.

Don't see any water. But, the kayak got my attention. We always camp next to our within dragin distance to water. Kayak is an important as a camp fire. Beautiful background.

The water was 2 miles down-hill from our location. The road up-hill was a two-track rock strewn 4x4 recommended trail. The lake was fairly large, 1 mile wide by 3 miles long. The campground at lake-side had mostly cab-over campers, RVs, 5th wheels and converted vans. Got nothing against those people personally, we just prefer to camp in tent only sections. Besides, garbage cans were full, and plenty of concrete to park. Hard drivin stakes in concrete! This was the lake's tent only section. 25 campsites and there were only two other tents. I don't mind the work of strapping & unloading, gives my back exercise now, from too many years when I was stuck in a wheel-chair. Used to have a self-loader that Desert Rose used alone. But that piece of stupid I sold on Craigslist within 2 months after my successful surgery!

I have no pics of my beast in the field, but here is one after I put some new meats on her a few months ago.

Its funny that 35 inch tires don't look so big on that thing...

Hahahahah, just slightly more practical. Did you walk away with cash as well?

Yes I did, that's partially why I did it.

Thanks, I do hope I enjoy a different kind of driving experience... The nearly $10K in the bank was a big deciding factor too. Of course, I traded down so the feeling of euphoria one gets from trading up is not there... Oh well, now I must find some place nearby to test the 4WD

And when I go back to your part of the country, I am definitely going to enjoy taking those rough roads that lead to beautiful places.
