    I definitely forgo comfort to reduce weight, but I remain diligent in ensuring I have first aid, water, etc. (the essentials). I find that keeping light allows me to enjoy the journey and my surroundings more. If I'm weighted down and miserable....it's tough to enjoy the outdoors. At least for me.

      I guess I am closest to a deluxe hiker. However, I would not say I put priority on comfort and convenience... I put priority on having reliable and affordable gear. I have a strong back but a weak wallet
