Howdy,
Last week I started a new thread so this is the first continuation. Recreational vehicles have many ports of call in the Las Vegas valley. Rates are very competitive, with many costing under $40 a night. The parks listed here all have full hookups and accept pets unless otherwise indicated. Most RV parks do a brisk business and encourage reservations.
BOOMTOWN
$ 333 Blue Diamond Rd. (702)264-7777; (800)588-7711
If you're coming in from California, this is a good place to drop anchor. Just a couple of miles south of The Strip off interstate 15, you can settle in here before braving the craziness of Las Vegas traffic. Boomtown's 460 spaces are, well, spacious, measuring 60 feet by 12 feet. And each is cable and phone ready. There is a mini mart, pool, showers, laundry, and shuttle to the hotel.
CALIFORNIA HOTEL-CASINO & RV PARK
$ 100 Stewart Ave. (702)388-2602; (800)634-6505
This freeway close location, at the junction of I-15 & US Hwy 95, is a great place for downtown visitors. It's an easy two-block walk to fremont Street Experience and it's 10 casinos. The 220-space lot is gated and includes a swimming pool, jacuzzi, showers and laundry.
CIRCUSLAND RV PARK
$ 500 Circus Circus Dr. (702)793-3757; (800)634-3450
Just off The Strip next to Circus Circus Hotel & Casino is a favorite for families. With the hotel's amusement park Grand Slam Canyon, just steps away and scores of casinos within easy walking distance, you won't have to do much driving once you pull in. The 369-space RV park has a monorail to the casino and a fenced run for pets, plus a pool, jacuzzi, supply store, and laundry. Because Circusland is so popular, it limits visitors to two-week stays.
