  • Cottonwood Cove, Lake Mohave Camping

    Howdy,

Cottonwood Cove is situated at the banks of Lake Mohave on the Nevada-Arizona border in Clark County, Nevada. It stands just 14 miles (23 k) east of historic Searchlight, only 45 miles north of Laughlin and an hour south of Las Vegas. It is the site of the Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina. The cove is part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area administered by the U.S. National Park Service.

We spent a long weekend here in the spring of 2008 and had a wonderful time. There is a lower campground of 19 sites and an upper campground as well. We stayed at the lower campground and went for walks, saw wildlife and generally relaxed. The fee was $10 but with a disabled access pass it was only $5 per night. That's a lot better than those fancy hotels in Vegas.

If one wants to there are houseboat rentals at:cottonwoodcoveresort.com and you won't be disappointed.
