I found this on facebook thought you might like it............ Join us on this rare wintertime rail adventure featuring the private Snow Train to Reno, over one of the most scenic rail lines in America. Enjoy the snowy Sierra Nevada Mountains from the comfort of this classic all-reserved special train. Add to this a history-making trip on the!fabled Virginia & Truckee Railway, plus great meals and shows in Reno, to make you a winner before the train leaves the station!

Tuesday, March 1 – We depart Emeryville 9:45 am, Martinez 10:35 am, Suisun 11:00 am and Sacramento 12:05 pm aboard Key Holiday!s special Snow Train. Onboard entertainment includes a piano lounge, strolling minstrels, a full-length Great Dome car, and historical information on sites along our route. Lunch is included. At Reno, we walk across the street to our accommodations at the elegant Eldorado Hotel Casino. Our special coupon book offers a variety of discounts for meals and shows while in “The Biggest Little City in the World.” The evening is free to enjoy as you wish.

Wednesday, March 2 – At 8:30 am, we head for Virginia City by motor coach. As far as we can determine, ours will be the FIRST AND ONLY steam-powered winter train over the Virginia City-Carson City track since 1950, at least 61 years ago. The V&T steam cars wind their way from Virginia City, passing through Gold Hill and Mound House to the current end of the line, just short of Carson City. We will have a few photo runbys along the way to capture some of the most dramatic and spectacular scenery, so completely different from yesterdays or tomorrows. Vintage coaches are now heated for passenger!s comfort. At Carson City, our bus transfers us to the Nugget with time for an included lunch, followed by a quick visit to the Nevada State Railroad Museum to see their fully-restored V&T McKeen car. A little later this afternoon, engine No. 29 (Baldwin 2-8-0, built 1916) puts on a real show as we climb the steep grades en route back to Virginia City. Return to the hotel is about 6:00 pm – time for dinner and a show!

Thursday, March 3 – The Snow Train departs Reno at 10:30 am for the scenic ride home. This is the day to relax and enjoy the wintertime beauty of the mountains and the springtime blossoms of the valley. There is time to explore the unique cars of our special train, or pick up a souvenir at the onboard gift shop. There is no other train like it anywhere else in the world! Arrival at Sacramento is scheduled for 3:40 pm, Martinez 5:05 pm and Emeryville at 6:00 pm, bringing to a close this rail adventure, jointly sponsored by Central Coast Railway Club and the PLA. Lunch is included.
