Hello,
My husband and I are celebrating our 15 year anniversary with an RV trip from Topeka, KS to Colorado this summer. We are borrowing (for the first time) my in-law's 36' class A RV! We are super excited for this adventure! We will have our 5 children with us (10, 9, 6, 4, 1) and are a little overwhelmed with figuring out where to stay. We are familiar with RMNP as my parents used to live in Greeley and we visited often...but never camped. We are not limited to that area. We are thinking of going near the end of June, possibly over the 4th of July as our anniversary is 7/1. We are open to most any area with a few requirements:
1) No crazy, cliff-hanging, treacherous mountain driving.
2) Full hook-ups are ideal
3) Scenic and spacious campsites...no "parking lot" camping.
4) Prefer near some sort of water.
We want to hike, do campfires, and just spend time together! We plan on a few day trips as well. Any advice on renting a vehicle? We aren't towing bc we have a Suburban and the car dolly can't handle all that! We'd have to rent a mini-van or something that can hold all 7 of us.
Any and all advice is VERY appreciated!
