  • Visiting colorado (in a tent)

I am visiting friends in colorado, sight seeing, birding, etc.

I will be crashing in denver a couple nights, but I am packing a tent in my checked luggage just in case.

What are some places near Denver where I can just pitch a tent and spend the night?

I am pretty much winging it and spending a week in colorado with me, a tent, and a rental car... any advice on what to see any where to stay is welcomed.

If I had my input i'd say head up to Buena Vista... There are plenty of free areas to camp around there, it is absolutely beautiful. We went up last weekend. It's a little cold but the views are worth it!
Good Luck and let us know how it goes
