  • Washington state island camping

A few friends and myself are in Washington State just South of Seattle and we would like to go camping for a couple of nights on an island where we would be alone. We have a VERY small boat that would be unsuitable for anything but calm water. Does anybody have any suggestions for an island that is secluded but accessible?

Also, many of the islands around Washington State are wildlife refuges that are not open to the public. Just out of curiosity, would the authorities be able to tell if you were to trespass upon these areas by any other means than somebody seeing people out there (video monitoring or seismic sensors that detect footsteps)?

    Thanks

Most wildlife refuges allow visitors but not always camping. My advice is to stay out of the salt water. Too dangerous.
The best place is on the East Side- Potholes Reservoir out in the Columbia Basin.
