Looking for a site in upstate ny / pa

Hey guys, we are getting away for a couple of weeks in Jun and are looking for a nice campground in upstate NY or Pennsylvania. As I am Australian I have no idea what to be looking for, most of the campgrounds I have seen strike me as too Disney style with all your fun manufactured.

I have a commitment in Rochester in the first week and am looking to go from there. So given we are in Va, I'm thinking somewhere west of I81.

Looking for water access for kids to swim, bushwalking (daywalks), some interesting site-seeing, dont really want the big tourist type resort RV place. Just somewhere nice to get away and enjoy the outdoors.

try checking out www.dec.ny.gov This is NewYork State's website for thier conservation department. Im sure Pennsylvania has a similar sit e to check out as well. good luck on your search
