My wife and I have been camping in Minnesota our entire lives. We're both 30 now and realized we have fallen into the habit of going to the same places all the time. We have about four campgrounds we just switch between, so we've decided to post here and hopefully hear about some other peoples favorite spots.
We typically like to stay within an hour and a half to two hours of our home in Blaine (20 min. north of MPLS), only because now that we have a camper rather than a tent, it's much more expensive to drive. Usually once a year we go somewhere further away (north shore, Itasca, etc etc...).
We do not require electric hookup, though if it's available it's nice. We always prefer secluded sites with heavy tree and woods coverage. We hate when we feel like we're just camping in an open field. Having a camper now we struggle to find nice secluded sites, but they are still around, we just need help finding them.
