Middle of no where car camping Mississippi River

I am looking for a spot on the Mississippi River near IL, WI, IA, or MN (Driving from Chicago area). It can be a spot where I can park the car and hike in about a mile as well. I do not need the car near me. I went up to Manistee National Forest last year and hiked in about 1.5 miles and camped. I will be bringing my dog as well so would like a spot along the river. No idea where to go. Thanks in advance for the help.

The trip would be around middle of June.

Some of the finest and most beautiful parts of the St. Croix River which empties into the Mississippi in Wisconsin/Minnesotaare at Interstate Park about mid-way down Wisconsin/Minnesota. At that point, they are nearly the same river.

It has car accessible camping on both the Wisconsin side and the Minnesota side.

The Wisconsin side has the prettiest rock formations, BUT... you can see them better from the Minnesota side, so I might suggest camping on the Minnesota side.
