  • Hammock Camping on the Buffalo River

We're planning a 6 day paddling trip on the Buffalo national River for next month. I prefer using a hammock instead of a tent, but noticed that the park Service limits tent camping, on the river, to gravel bars and only within 1/2 mile of a designated Park Service campground! Will I be able to find suitable sites to hang my hammock?

Thanks for the reply. That's what I thought, from the pics and videos I've seen. I'll use the trusty Tarptent. Maybe bring the Hennessy if I have room...just in case I do find that perfect spot. Might be a little cool for the ultralight. Rainy season actually starts around the 1st of April, so here's hoping. As of now the river is just barely floatable from Ponca.
