I made some great reservations for the end of this month. We are staying at Mammoth Cave Campground in Kentucky for a couple days then heading over to the Great Smokey Mountains for another couple days and staying at Elkmont Campground.
Our ultimate goal is to end somewhere on the East Coast to stay along the beach but the hotels are really overpriced since we are going to be staying 4th of July weekend. We might end up going to Jekyll Island in Georgia. I just received an email from them saying they have primitive tent openings for their campground. I have 2 boys who love the water and want to do nothing but swimming on our last few days. I'm just worried it'll be too hot or muggy to camp comfortably? I'm not sure how the weather is in the North/South Carolina & Georgia area around 4th of July. Any good campgrounds that are near the beach in these areas??
