  • Monk Industries Tent Stake

I was walking around the local Army/Navy surplus store and ran across some of the Monk Industries Tent stakes. The 5/8X12" Red Forged head ones to be exact. Those things are stout. "Beefy" would be another way to describe them. I think it is double the stake that came with my kodiak Canvas Tent.
It is one thing for a sponsor to come on and say that they have a good product, But its always nice to hear someone who isn't affiliated with the company give a review. Those things are awesome.

      Shawnbebout,

Thank you for the good review on our stakes. The stakes you found in the surplus store are made from 5/8 diameter high carbon American steel. We manufacture them complete here in our plant in Tennessee. We hot forge the rope hook head on them, then heat treat them to make them super hard and almost indestructible. We also coat them with a hard baked on enamel coating. You can't wear them out. That's the reason they turn up at surplus stores and flea markets.

A new item we have started making is a small tarp stake. These have been really popular with campers. They are made from 5/16 diameter steel and are 10" long. They have a hook head that can be driven down flush with the ground to prevent a tripping hazard. Very easy to pull. If you get the Safety Yellow ones, you will not leave them behind when you tear down.

      You can see them here.....
