  • Wanted: Camping, day hike, and backpacking suggestions

Some of you know that Susan and I will be heading out in the middle of March on a counterclockwise trek around the US. We have to be back by the end of May. We want to walk trails (both day treks and 2-3 nite treks) along our path.

I need from you folks recommendations of trails you feel are really worth taking, and places to visit. So, if you have a favorite, please let me know what/where it is. I think the only state we are not going to be in is Florida.

Not Florida.....? Ah well - we'll meet along the trail somewhere, I am sure. ;-)
I envy y'all being able to do this.

If you are in NJ try the Kittatinny Mountains. http://www.njskylands.com/odhikedwg.htm or http://www.nynjtc.org/panel/hikenow?...Fcbd4AodUkCbHQ (their site is down right now, but keep trying). Easy access from the Delaware Water Gap right on Route 80 west and 3 miles from Worthington State Forest Campground.

72 miles of the AT runs through NJ http://www.appalachiantrail.org/site...New_Jersey.htm
and can also be accessed from the DWG. Not sure how fast you hike, but my dh and I are going to do the NJ section over 7 or 8 days in late April/early May

          Have fun & I'm envious!
