Advice for Highlander Limited & trailer
I have an 08 Highlander Limited 4WD towing question. As many of you know it’s:
5k lbs towing capacity
500 lb hitch weight
4300 lb curb weight
Basically, I am hearing all kinds of things about what weight of travel trailer I can tow. My goal is for the trailer to stay under 4k lbs.. Since the hitch weight limit on the HL is 500 lbs, what is the magic number of the trailer’s hitch weight? It’s not easy to find a decent couple size trailer with a hitch weight far enough away from 500 lbs to let me breathe easy. Perhaps I’m thinking too hard.
What is a good place to be with trailer weight and hitch weight,? Also, if my HL weighs 4300 curb weight, how much should the trailer weigh to keep the tail from wagging the dog?
