trailer hitch

Let me start by saying, I am an infamous Cheap Skate! Ok noe that is out of the way. I need a trailer hitch for my minivan, a 2000 Mercury Villager (Nissan Quest). Here is my question. Why cant I find a used hitch? I imaging that many people buy their vans with tow packages, etc. Still more add hitches to them throughout their lives. Sadly, cars get smashed up and end up in the salvage yards, and frugal people like me buy used parts off of them for cheap prices. I would imagine a simple bolt on hitch would simly be removed by the salvage yard and resold like any other part, but alas I cant find any used ones???????

Any thoughts??

Good question, Joe. They should be out there. Just have to keep looking.
Also, most salvage yards have an online connection these days, and should be able to locate parts at other yards. See if that turns anything up.
I actually see few minivans with hitches - I had to buy one and have it installed on my Grand Caravan.
