  • Jabal Shams - Oman

Hi all, just wanna share some photos from my last camping trip season to Jabal Shams (Oman), Liwa Desert (Abu Dhabi), Hatta Pool (Dubai), Snoopy Island Beach (Fujairah), and Khasab (Oman).

Jebel Shams (mountain of sun) is a mountain located in northeastern Oman north of Al Hamra town. It is the highest mountain of the country and part of Al hajar Mountain range. It is a popular sightseeing area located 240 km from Muscat. In the summer, temperature is around 20°C (68°F) and in the winter it drops to just above 0°C (32°F). It is around 540 km from our home in Abu Dhabi, took 6 hours driving + border administration to reach this place. It was worth, the scene just amazing.

                  Liwa Desert - Abu Dhabi

Liwa Desert is about 100 km south of the Persian Gulf coast and 150 km SSW of the city of Abu Dhabi, on the northern edge of Rub' al Khali desert. It is centered around 23°08′N 53°46′E and stretches about 100 km east-west, along an arch curved to the north. It takes 3 hours drive from Abu Dhabi to reach this place.

This is our campsite, tried to shot star trail in the night but less passion and technique, need to learn more how to shot the start trail... :p

                  The empty street...

                      Hatta Pool - Dubai

Hatta is a Sheikhdom in the Hajjar mountains- an exclave of the Emirate of Dubai, UAE to the south-east of its main territory. Its capital town is also named Hatta (which includes a reconstructed heritage village by the same name). Hatta is about 115 km east of Dubai City. Because of its altitude, Hatta has a milder climate than the city of Dubai, making Hatta a popular vacation place for Dubai residents.

                      Our campsite...

                              Snoopy Island Beach - Fujairah

Fujairah is one of the seven emirates in the United Arab Emirates, it is about 245km from Abu Dhabi. Fujairah is the only Emirate of the UAE that is almost totally mountainous. All the other Emirates, like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are located on the west coast, and are largely covered by desert.

Our campsite is in Al Aqa Beach, known as Snoopy Island Beach because there is one island close to beach that looks like Snoopy, I do not know who initially came with this imagination, it is quite hard for me to imagine that island as Snoopy... :p
