Here is an image of what I will put into Billy's packs for 3 days of packing. I lay my stuff out in vertical rows. There are 3
rows", meals/preparation, first aid/safety, and clothing/bedding/warmth.
I'll go left to right:
Plastic cone drip coffee maker
ground coffee beans for 2 mugs a day
12 coffee filters
6 tea bags
2 individual Dove Dark Chocolate squares
Orange insulated mug w/cover for re-hydrating meals.
Small container olive oil
Small container honey
2 individual packets ketchup
1/4 cup p/butter
Soda crackers (under p/butter
Cook pan, two rubber bowls, small spatula, orange Spork
Splatter screen (I use for wind screen), stove (in bag), strike anywhere matches.
2 empty water bottles, to be used in camp.
Meals (Except for granola and beans used in some meals, all veggies and cheese/s are dried here at home, each meal individually wrapped in "snack size" zip-loc bags)
Breakfast/s:
1. Three meals of Granola w/ either blueberries, apricots, or peaches
2. Potato pancakes
Lunches:
1. Two lunches of 3 bean salad w/Italian dressing and feta cheese.
2. One lunch of p/butter, hummus, crackers, dried fruit, feta cheese,
Dinners:
1. Gnocchi w/ home made marinara sauce and either Parmesan or feta cheese.
2. Potato pancakes
3. Sachuan veggie wrap.
Dessert: 3 packages of home made instant lemon pudding.
Salt, pepper, garlic powder, curry powder, Butter Buds
MIDDLE COLUMN - Health and Safety

Various meds in a "chain" of clear, plastic screw on lids.
Toothbrush, toothpaste
Snack bag w/ moleskin and lite days sanitary napkins (puncture wounds).
Small pack I carry stuff in.
Map of where I am going, GPS, Personal Rescue Beacon, headlamp
RIGHT COLUMN - Clothing and warmth
Plastic container holding extra batteries
Red waterproof/breathable/windproof jacket
1 each Quick dry pants/shorts combination
2 each Quick dry short sleeve shirt
1 each light weight polypropylene top
1 each light weight polypropylene bottom
1 each light weight polypropylene balaclava
1 quick dry wash cloth (bright green)
1 pair shorts - two wear at end of day (showered and clothes washed.
One person tent
Sleeping bag - down, rated at 50 degrees. If temperature drops, I put on the poly top and bottom, and or whatever else is dry to keep me warm.
2 pair thick hiking socks.
What isn't shown, but is already in the packs are my sleeping pad, stove, fuel bottle, and 1 qt container of extra fuel.
I can go out for 2-14 days with this inventory. The only thing that would change is the increase in meals, more matches, and extra fuel.
The game now is seeing if you can find all of what I mentioned in the picture.:D
