  • Is There A New Dawn For the National Park Service?

A massive influx of dollars is heading towards the National Park System, part due to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, some proposed within the Obama administration's Fiscal 2010 budget proposal. It certainly is a change from the past eight years.

Of course, the fiscal landscape wouldn't look so nice if the nation's economy weren't sputtered along on the shoulder of the road. With a healthy economy, there would have been no American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the $750 million it injected into the National Park Service.

Anyways I think your right mate, I've noticed a few park upgrades here in Michigan! But They should lower the admissions so we could bring our kids, grand kids so on to the park.

yes,jp is fine. I would use it online but most userids require more than two letter/numbers.
I agree that it seems that fees are easier to add than remove. At my age there are plans avail. to at least give me a discount.

Parks here in North Florida are in trouble. The State-run parks are laying off employees, especially OPS (temp/part-time) folks. No money for maintenance, much less upgrades! Fees to get in are going up. :(

This "Porkulous Bill" has two edges to it. Some areas are getting money, others are going without - depends on whether they can curry political favor or not. And, our kids and grandkids are going to really hate us for stiffing them with the bill in later years....... :o
Longtime Motorcycle Camper. Getting away from it all on two wheels!
