    Thanks, Fox!

That's one failing of the modern US Navy - if you ain't a 'deck ape' they don't teach you knots!

Thanks for the link. good refresher.....
Bigdog is correct ... Back in the dark ages When I went from "Deck Ape" to "Radar Gang" I was often asked to tie a knot, but it was sometimes said in jest.

The thing I to do was untie a correctly tied knot so my left-handed-ness could see how to do it from the other way as the directions are usually written by a right handed person.

ID:	69532 My kids always take the Klutz Book Of Knots. It's so basic and useful! I was a Boy Scout and knew the knots for my merit badges, but have forgotten them just like I have my high school and college Spanish! The book is geared for children 3 and over. LOL! Works for me.

Great site...except how to I access it when I pack 20 miles in and my Iphone has no reception? Looks like I have to memorize a few of the best knots.

                Re: Knot Learning...But I Am!

that's what i loved about the scouts growing up, learning the knots. my son just finished a knot class earlier in late spring on knot tying (i had taught him a good bit before hand, just the basic ones really) and he loved it....always a good thing to know how to do

                  Re: Knot Learning...But I Am!

                  This is very helpful... knot!

I usually fumble around for a few minutes until I accidentally get it right with whatever knot I'm trying to tie. I didn't go to boy scouts, as, I'm a girl, but I learned mostly from rock climbing and outdoors classes in school. Thanks for the link!
