An English forum-buddy over on the SurvivalMonkey forums has a lot of great pics of his techniques of wilderness craft.
Here is his Youtube video on starting a tinder fire, first by using a pocket knife with flint striker rod, then using the spine of the knife with a piece of natural flint.
