  • Weather Follies

This year the weather has been frustrating too: couple of real nice warm spring days then whammy, back to winter-like storms. June 11-13 we're weekend campin' to Eagle Lake north of Reno about 2 1/2 hours. Can't get into the back-country because of all the snow's still on the ground. The Truckee River, near our small home here, still hasn't shown any rise or faster moving water more than 17 cubic feet per second, cause, the mountains are keeping their blankets of white with 'em. Nothing in the higher elevations is melting quick enough. So we gotta camp with RVers for a spell. Nice folks mostly, but in a tent close to generator, an RV sounds like the "Army's up the road!" Good luck in Elkmont there SMC!
My sons called from MN and said that they broke a heat record a few days ago it was 95f in Chaska and Sandstone, MN. They said that it hasn't been that hot since the 1800s, go figure?
