  • Power Inverter

Pretty much new to the camping world here. The question I have is if I were to purchase a 2000 watt car power inverter, hook it up to a stand alone battery and then plug a battery charger into the inverter and run it back to the battery, in theory, will this keep the battery charged? I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks!

Nope. All you are doing is "moving" the electricity in a circle: battery to inverter to charger to battery.... There is no new power coming in, and just moving the power around will lose power in the process.

You need to break the circle with an outside power source.

You can run the inverter of the battery to power 120v items. When the battery is rundown, you will recharge it using solar or a separate 120v power source (battery charger connected to a campground electrical pedestal or a generator).
