I attended my 2nd Winter Camping Symposium up in Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota. At this event, there is a silent auction/ gear sale and I was able to snag an older model Black River Sled for a great price. This is my first toboggan!
I have it rolled up in the picture so I could fit it in the vehicle. I believe it is a 7-8 foot sled. I'm now learning about all the parts of a toboggan. The canvas bag is called a tank. I love that. Here's the website of the guy who makes these: http://www.blackriversleds.com/
We just got our first snowfall in Wisconsin. (Actually, we broke records for snowfall on a Halloween) and I'm hoping this means good snow coming our way for the winter. I'd like to get a couple trips in with this baby. I'm thinking of giving it a name and I'm feeling like she is a female. Maybe Snow White?
If there are any other toboggan owners out there, I'll take any advice you can give me!
