  • Useful and Awesome Camping Gadgets Ideas

    Hi everyone,
I've started a YouTube Channel that will feature a lot of cool camping gadgets and innovations.
For the first video I've chosen 5 cool gadgets, from a waterproof camping tent - Kodiak Canvas to a really fast water purifier - Grayl Ultralight.

What do you guys think of this idea? And do you find these gadgets useful, or they are just in the way of true camping experience- only you and nature, less tech involved. :he:

P.S: If you want to recommend some cool gadgets, please do.
P.S 2: I'm not sure if I should've marked the topic as Advertisement?

Some of the products highlighted might fit into my way of outdoor living, others not.
I think I need to watch the vid again not so late in MY night to give a better analysis/opinion. Right now I'm not feeling the multi function cooler but the portable a/c has perked an interest assuming it's not a glorified fan.

Be that as it may.........Welcome! .
    2017:

July 3 to July 16- annual kiddo trip
Aug 2 to Aug 14- adult trip to recover from kiddos' outing. Bring on the Campari!

Lots of tech-heads here. I for one appreciate new, lightweight materials, although I gather that's not your focus :-)

Oh man, this guy is great. "Hey cow. Whatcha doin?"

I didn't watch them all but the Simple Shower looked pretty cool.

He is great. That's the first time I've seen him going over camping gear. You should check out his other videos - he's done all kinds of experiments.

I discovered CrazyRussianHacker several months ago and have watched several of his videos but this discussion got me curious so I looked him up on YouTube and the source of all knowledge, Wikipedia. This guy is my new hero. Wikipedia said when he moved here from the Ukraine he worked at Walmart while developing his YouTube channels. According to YouTube, he posts 1 or 2 videos per day and has posted 1500+ videos since 2012. On both his channels he has a total of ~12 million subscribers and his videos have ~2.4 billion views. He is one of their top 100 sites. According to Wikipedia he is worth about $5 million. Not bad for an immigrant that started his business in 2012.

Last year I brought some Coleman motion lights with me on our trip, and mounted them on some 3 foot old stockade fence and put them around camp. It served two purposes which were a) to help not trip on the guylines and stuff when walking around camp and b) give me a little peace of mind with bears.

Have you seen any bears since you have started using them?
