I am going camping with my friend next weekend, but we don't know what place to go. We went camping on the top of mountain last year, we were cought in the rain, and most of our baggage were blew off, including us. That very dangerous! So choose a safe place is very important. Any advice?:yipi:

Well....first you need to make sure you have a good lantern.“I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority.”

I'm sure you'll be able to find a flashlight with a coupon on Amazon to post here soon...“One could not be a successful scientist without realizing that, in contrast to the popular conception supported by newspapers and mothers of scientists, a goodly number of scientists are not only narrow-minded and dull, but also just stupid.” - James D. Re: How to choose a camping place?
For me, I use Allstays camp & RV to find a campground. I usually go for national forest campgrounds because they are always nice. For weather I use NOAA Weather free app to see where it's currently raining or snowing. If it's hot, I try to pick campgrounds at higher elevations and if it's cold, I pick campgrounds at lower elevations. My last campsite was Onion Valley campground situated at 9,200' because its around 95-100 degrees in the valleys and it was around 55 degrees there. I just love picking campgrounds at the last minute. I'll wait till that morning to find the next campground and go with my gut as to where I want to go.
