    If a roll isn't viable but you still want padding consider interlocking foam tiles to be able to create the space you need yet offer different transportation and storage options.

      We use a bunch of interlocking anti fatigue floor mats we got from our local Harbor Freight. I lay out the ground cloth/tarp, then put the mats down, keeping the overall area covered a tad bit smaller than the tent footprint, then put the tent down. The best part is, we have various size tents that we might use, so, we can configure the mats however we need.

        @astrowolf67, seems like a pretty solid item, if anyone wants to be the price point on those, eBay has surplus sellers of army sleeping mats, they sell between $2-$3 the shipping seems expensive but when you buy 6+ you actually make out pretty well in the end, I have them all over my house/garage/truck for kneeling or sitting. If they got torn up just junk em or cut them down small for other tasks. :cool:
