Also thank the "Disneyfication" of America, which makes many people think Raccoons and other wild critters are 'too cute to kill'. They forget the 'wild' in wildlife.

Disneyfication is ok, probably better than my saying of Wusification.

Not sure if everyone needs to cut off the head of a chicken, but they do need to face reality. Some people think cows are cute, I think they taste great.
Watching NG, Discover and History shows sometimes portray animals as to what they really are....

Idiots like the PETAfreaks lost me completely when they tried to rename fish to "Seakittens"...... I don't pet fish, I eat them. ;-)
Nature is very often cruel, violent and deadly. It can also be magnificent, beautiful and bountiful. We must take the good with the bad. And that means realizing one's place in nature isn't always at the top of the food chain. And that some 'cute' critters are incorrigible thieves!
