Re: How do you store your Paracord??

The 550 I have on the ends of my tarps, I turn into a daisy chain. Loose stuff, I usually have spooled and put it with it's perspective "whatever it's tying out". I made a belt a while back and a few bracelets, but they take too long to weave back up. I'd say they're just for looks or emergencies. That's some really versatile stuff. I even have my boots laced with it.

I use a pringles potatoe chip can, works great.

I made a belt out of a solid hundred foot length. It's a handy way to always have a lot of cord on me without having extra weight. I'm going to wear a belt anyway, right?

As for storage, I wither leave it on the 500' spool or, for packing some, I cut off whatever length I want, singe the ends, and form a hank from a coil. Not sure if that's the proper terminology but think sheepshank with a dozen or so passes through the knots.

I use this 550-ParaMilitary-Cord in OD Green, it is hard to see to a degree. I used it to secure my tents in the military among other things, I used my last bit when I camped in Ft Davis last year. I have never broken it, this stuff is strong, and it is not bulky like rope of similar strength and its not as expensive climbing rope.
The mil surplus store where I buy mine carries high-vis orange, yellow, and red in 300' spools for about $25. OD, White, Khaki, and Black are around $22 for the same length spool.

Re: How do you store your Paracord??

Just recently came across Paracord and its many uses. I got rained on while riding atv's in the mountains last weekend and had to remember how we did the USGI Poncho's for a rain shelter. Off topic, but I have AADDHD. I found a couple of youtube links that are helpful in making the bracelet and one way for storing that looks pretty good. I will include the youtube links for reference.
I also found out while doing some research last night that they used Paracord to fix the hubble telescope in space.
