Simply no frill food, but great ideas for camping. Sometimes I forget who has an herb garden in their backyard(I do)? Who takes spices and herbs and forgets the tissue paper for the nose(I do)? K.I.S.S.(keep it simple, stupid) goes along way in terms of camping and eating good hearty meals.
Ingredients:
2 lb. ground beef
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs(I use brown-makes me think of a farm)
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 package of sliced cheese
Directions:
Mix in a bowl all ingredients and form into 8 patties
More Ingredients:
Saute in butter 1 cup of chopped onion & canned mushrooms
Final Directions:
Place about 2 teaspoons of onion & mushrooms on 4 patties. Cover with a slice or two of cheese(your choice) and add the second patty. Seal edges by pinching meat with fingers. Cook in skillet or grill as normal for a burger. About 9 minutes...serves a family of four fine!
