  • Snow Dog's Hippie Trippin' Granola Bars

    Thanks to Dan Williamson

    Recipe Ingredients:
    • 1/2 C. softened margarine (1 stick)
    • 1/4 C. honey
    • 1/2 C. brown sugar (packed)
    • 1/2 C. peanut butter
    • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

    5 C. Hippie Trippin' Granola
    • 1/2 C. mini chocolate chips

    Cooking instructions:
Mix together all ingredients except granola and chocolate chips, then stir in granola and chocolate chips. Press mixture into a greased 9X14 pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Partially cool and cut into 16 bars.
    Variations/Hints:
Use mini M&Ms or raisins instead of chocolate chips. Continue to burn incense and play trippy folk rock CDs for an authentic granola-bar-making experience. If you have an old Peace Medallion, so much the better.
    Comments:
Once you try these you'll never use store-bought again. They are great energy boosters on heavy travel days or a fast breakfast that can be eaten on the go. Make them as close to your departure date as possible for maximum freshness.
I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.

Re: Snow Dog's Hippie Trippin' Granola Bars

sounds interesting but what actually goes into the Hippie Trippin' Granola itself?

would it work with dried cranberries instead of the raisins or even with the raisins?
