  • Breakfast Burittos

*These need to be made before the camping trip and keep in resealable bags on ice.
    Ingredients:
    -Large Tortillas
    -Eggs
    -Sausage
    -Cheese
    -Potatoes
-Other Ingredients (Onions, Green Peppers, Etc.)

Chop up the potatoes and boil them. Then cook the eggs scrambled style and fry the sausage. In a large bowl, mix the eggs, potatoes, sausage and any other ingredients (diced). Take the mixture from the bowl and add to the tortillas, topping them with cheese. Fold up the tortillas into burritos and then wrap each in aluminum foil. After them have cooled, place the wrapped burritos into resealable bags and keep them cool until they are used. To heat the burritos, simply place the foil wrapped burritos on warm coals for 10 minutes or until tortillas are golden brown.

Thank you for bumping; I had not seen this. I never thought of adding potatoes to burrito ingredients; sounds very yummy.

I dont understand. How many of what do I throw in? A dozen eggs? Fifty sausages? This isnt a recipe by any standard. Im sorry, but this was not helpful in the least. You could have just as well said "get some things, put them together, heat them up, and eat them."

Hmm, well I have a culinary degree and I would call it a recipe. It just does not happen to be a standardized recipe. Lets try to be nice to each other, please.

I guess the OP assumed common sense on the part of the cook. Sad to say that these days common sense is so rare its practically a superpower. Looked a lot like a recipe to me...

shhh.... my common sense is tingling.

I made this at home to try out before I head out to the woods and I love them. Thanks

Yes I think some people just lost all commonsense and need ever measurement and detailed steps spelled out for them

...it's not a recipe but it is a technique....

I would point out that shredding the taters will make the final product less watery when ya pre-freeze and reheat them on site.

If you can't figure out breakfast burritos without detailed instructions, then they are probably beyond your cooking ability anyway.

I just want to report back that my pre frozen breakfast burritos were a complete flop this trip as far as lil grrlies are concerned..
Apparently, they are still in "food groups shouldn't touch" mode. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
On the flip side, adults liked it fine!

Ha! "Common Sense as a Superpower". I love it- and I agree 100%
