Hello everyone!
I'm looking for a spot and I need some help finding it! I'm looking for an area that is in the general vicinity of Pike's Peak or Manitou, but is far enough away from the tourism of Pike's Peak, Barr Trail and the incline that if I were to go camping there, that I wouldn't really have issues with people crossing nearby my camp every 30 minutes or less. Although I am open to scouting out other areas in Colorado Springs, I just don't want to drive too far since I'll be on time constraint. I'm wanting to find an area near a water source, so that I can supplement the food I bring with fish. Yes, I'm licensed. I'd like to be able to make it to the campsite within an hour or two of walking, if possible. I wouldn't mind walking four or five hours if the spot were perfect enough, though! I'm no slouch. I'm just interested in getting to the site and setting up quickly so that I can get to the "good stuff".
