I am located 15 minutes out of stl and am looking for a place to camp. I'm wanting a place with no people around, no roads, no buildings or restrooms around, im looking for the REAL camping experience where noones around, collect sticks to make a campfire, etc. I would like it to have streams, lakes, small waterfalls, how indians lived is how I would like to camp.
I just cant find any areas around me that is real wild and legal to camp in, everywhere I see has other campers, roads, buildings, picnic tables.....where can I go that is only the wild where I can go camp and explore? Ive seen videos all over youtube with neat camping areas, I just cant find any around illinois.
We are looking for place 3 hours or less away from saint louis.
