  • Month long cross-country road/camping trip

Hello everyone. My wife and I are planning to take a month long road trip this summer (June 20 – July 20), with tent camping for most of the trip. Both of us are complete novices with camping and have not been since we were children (we are both in our mid-30’s now). Our planned stops “as of now” include: Petrified Forest, Joshua Tree, Sequoia NP, Stanislaus National Forest, Olympic, Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Arches. We have reservations for Stanislaus and Yellowstone, but hope to arrive early at the other destinations to grab our spots. We know some may be completely booked by now and will camp at nearby locations in these instances, but don’t want to book every spot in advance so as not to rush our trip (we will extend our trip if necessary). We are going to purchase The North Face Stormbreak 2 tent, Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sol Sleeping Pad, not sure if we will buy two separate sleeping bags or a double bag, LED Lantern, two folding chairs, Coleman 70-Quart cooler and other things such as bug spray and SPF. Any other advice or tips would be greatly appreciated: simple foods to take, clothes to pack/buy, guides or maps to purchase and anything else informative. Thank you in advance for your help.
