Looking to camp in Colorado

Hey, a friend and I decided to up our adventures to going to Colorado from central Texas. We want to go camping in early August and are looking for somewhere to go. We don't want to camp at a campsite though, we want to hike a few miles to find a secluded area on a lake or river so we can fish and go hiking alone without other people for a bout a week. Does anybody know of a place that we can do this? preferably on the outskirts of a mountain thats in walking distance? That is not required but we would like to camp on the side of a mountain. Also, does anybody have any tips? We are 2 19 year old guys just looking for an adventure.
