For the best absolute tasting veggies from cooking: Start in cold water all veggies that grow underground, like potatoes & carrots. Vegetables that grow on top of the ground should be started(cooking) in warm water, peas, green beans or corn. And onions should always be cooked very thoughly(no crunch left).
