Chef and all... here's a few more photos of the Sierra Nevada Mountains that are just west and run south for well over 200 miles. Don't know exactly how far north they go but I'm sure up into Oregon and maybe Washington! Enjoy!!

The sky is slightly pixelated because I'm human...I forgot to re-set the ISO after shooting some night scenes at 800. Everyone makes mistakes. But it is no mistake that this is the area where we will live in soon! Desert Rose's start date in Reno is March 29, 2010. Looks like we are going every weekend up there to Reno. Then after that I'll be making the runs to Vegas solo every couple of days until everything is finalized here. I'm hoping to be up in Reno for good by April 15th! Gotta run!

Great pics!!!! regardless of the setting.
p.s. just looked at the first pics that were suitable for jigsaw puzzles.
I could sit there and watch those mountains all day just to see if they moved.

An Update...we got a house 2 bdroom about 1500' from the Truckee River, just west of downtown but still in the city limits. Desert Rose's new job site: VA Reno is 3 miles away...that will save a lot of gas! Me, there is also a very old and nice park within crawling distance called Idlewild Park! Beautiful spot! Right now her reporting date is March 29. It could change into April so we aren't that sure yet!

The weekends of March 13, March 20, March 27 we will be traveling to and fro packing and taking, unpacking etc. You know the drill if you have ever moved. I'll try my best to check the boards when I can. Just remember to the new campateers, welcome...only your first 6 post/threads are moderated and after that you're pretty much "golden" as we are concerned. Just keep on the camping chat and everything will be dandy. Including a great new thread started by Waterfowler: "Poetry!" We certainly like it a lot!

Spring's right around the corner and old man winter sure has it's grasp on everyone till now! But better days ahead! I wish I was camping! But soon will be in a couple of months! Thanks goes out to everyone! The best bunch of campers I ever did meet! We should all go camping together but if we do I ain't loanin' nothin' out! By cracky! Get camping! Thanks!

back to Reno in two days!

Hey; Desertfox; Happy trails. You are a brave soul. Wife and I considered buying another home while the market is low.
But, our couage failed when we considered moving nearly fifty years of STUFF!!!! UGH!!!

OK everyone, we're up in Reno but not settled in yet. Desertrose is on line but I'm still driviing 450 miles every other day mpving furniture and camping gear here. It will be maybe another 2-3 weeks before I'm back online full time! Everyone is doing great without me and that's great! This move is a killer but you should see this country! It's beautiful! I'll check in again in a couple of days! Now get camping, by cracky!

Howdy JP and thanks for the cartoon!

Here's a couple of pics I grabbed of Reno and Lake Tahoe! Man, are we gonna love this place once the move is all done!!

May 1 is open day for kayak season on Lake Tahoe and we will be there then, by cracky! We are doing the move by u-hual except for the heavy stuff then I'm hiring it out. I can lift some stuff but the back is getting a work out! Sure beats sitting in a wheel-chair like I was last spring! Enjoy the pics. We're leaving for Reno again this Friday evening; it's a 8 hour drive. Then we'll be back here by Monday March 22. Desert Rose's last work day in Vegas is Friday March 26. I'm leaving early that day so I can stop and take some pics of the ghost towns we're driving through, she'll leave Vegas for good Sat AM and she'll be driving the Z all by herself, lucky girl!
