it wa ok. Kind of tired of the Jack don't have a boat or crew opening. If they could do something different, that would be nice. The first is still my favorite.

That is because in the first one Jack was the smartest guy in the room and, while he could and would mix it up to get what he wanted/needed, he preferred to outsmart people. In the other 3 he was too goofy.

Plus the other 3 had so many plot twists they were hard to follow.

I agree with that. I've often felt that the first one had real characters and the rest were just about watching caricatures of those characters. They lost depth to their roles.

OMG! Now I absolutely empathize with you. I don't know if I mentioned it on here but after working for myself for 5 years I got burned out and took a job that paid piece work. (Paid by the job instead of by the hour) Which wasn't bad because I am a good electrician and a hard/efficient worker so I quickly became a value. Then things fell apart. They were trying to make me work mandatory Saturdays with no bump in pay. I didn't mind my boss but the area manager was a spineless nimrod.

To make a long story slightly shorter I ended up filing a complaint with the Dept of Labor for payroll violations (not paying overtime or even keeping track of hours) which resulted in everyone getting a pay cut. However, the plus side is that I got another job that I am MUCH happier with. I don't come home exhausted and filthy any more. It is all construction but I went from being one of the trades to a superintendent for a home builder.

Through it all I just kept checking with others to make sure my moral compass was pointing north and making sure I was working in a direction that I felt would put me in a better place.

I remember when you got the new job and how happy you were. It gave me hope for my future.

I also have torn cartilage in both knees and need surgery that I can't do at this time. So, I'm seeing a pain management specialist to help ease the pain without medication. He did real well with my neck & shoulder pain and headaches (non-stop pain for months on end that affected my ability to drive, etc.) by electrocuting my neck. That really worked great and I just get normal tenseness and stress-caused pain in my muscles that goes away once I remove myself from the cause. He gave me a series of shots in the knees (lube jobs basically) to help with the knee pain but it's not working the pain is back with every change in the weather.

Acccchhhhhhhh! Someone go camping so I can enjoy it through you.

                  Re: Memorial Day 2017

Speaking of new jobs, I am about 18 months into mine, and it may be the best job I have ever had. Took a job as a facilities electrician for a fortune 150 company. About 8 miles from the house, inside work (mostly) heated in the winter, ac in the summer. Porcelain toilets, a cafeteria, all the free coffee, tea and hot chocolate you want. 2 weeks paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, 6 PTO days.
Badically, if there is something that needs done by a licensed electrician, I do it. Hooking up 3D printers, cranes, monitors in offices, fire alarm work or whatever.
They Paid the electrical contractor company before they hired me over $1 million in one year, so they love saving that money. We had a power outage last Wednesday. I rented a generator and some tables. I was able to keep our shipping department up, because we had 15 units that were same day ship. And the surcharge for same-day shipping on each unit was $30,000. So in the span of a few hours I made sure the company collected on $450,000 of pure profit. So did I mention they love me?

That's the best thing in a job - being appreciated for your work. And the great feeling knowing you made a difference and it was noted and appreciated.
