While not for everyone, civilized camping (Glamping) involves bringing more than just a crawl-in tent.
To help light a tent that you can stand up and walk around in I grabbed a cheap/chinese wally mart floor lamp.
As expected it was so poorly made that it tended to come apart even in home use and did actually generate multiple pieces after camping this last Labor day weekend.
Accordingly; to rectify the design/production/chinese issues it was remanufactured to enable easy breakdown and better packability, using a $6 two foot extendable painter's pole from Lowes.
It now easily telescopes from 6 feet down to about 3 feet, easily disassembles into 3 major pieces and is way stronger than the original. (need to reinstall the cord, along the outside of the pole, and bulb but otherwise its done).
Enjoy!
