Found this on a different forum and decided it would make a good I'm too lazy to cook tonight meal. Can't think why it wouldn't work on a campsite:

COOK'S NOTES:
I'll be using a cooked ham bone, and some leftover sauerkraut instead of shredded cabbage. Also whatevah cooked beans I've on hand. I'm cooking it w/o the sugar an will decide if I want to add it after the cooking. The heat will melt the sugar cyrstals if need be.

- 4 cups water
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes (undrained)
- 3 cups cabbage (shredded)
- 2 cups cooked ham (diced)
- 3 carrots (sliced)
- 1 1⁄2 cups celery (chopped)
- 3⁄4 cup onion (chopped)
- 1⁄2 cup bell pepper (chopped)
- 1 (16 ounce) can beans, of, your, choice (drained) I used cannellini
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 bay leaves
Directions
- In large soup kettle, combine all ingredients.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1-1/4 hours.
- Discard bay leaves and serve hot (Add cooked pasta, if you wish)
