How do you repair mesh screen on a tent?

How do you patch a rip in the mesh/screen portion of your tent? I have a big tear in the mesh on my tent entrance, as shown on the attached photo below.

The tent is a Marmot Swallow, if that makes any difference.

Short of replacing the hole piece I only have one idea. Other will probably have a much better solution.

I would try my local fabric store for two of those clear iron-on patches. Try and adhere them to each other, covering the hole.
