  • Primitive Camping In Eastern Colorado?

Hi, I hope I'm not going about this the wrong way, but I am trying to help my dad out. He is looking for a place to go camping in eastern/central Colorado, as remote as possible for primitive tent camping. He's wanting to do some fishing, a little gold panning, and dirt bike riding. I'm trying to help him find a place he could do all of that, he's thinking of going in about a month. He has a good truck, so getting in some where is not an issue. If anybody has any suggestions for a place or area to go, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Central and Eastern Colorado don't have mountains. Western half of the state has the mountains.

To do that stuff he needs to be west of I25 and in the mountains. He could do primitive camping at Pawnee National Grasslands, but there is only a 1/2 mile draw to ride in. Not much water for drinking, fishing or gold panning. He needs to be looking at the mountains.
