If you are wary of solar power because of possible cloudy weather, I just learned about a pot that charges all USB devices (ipod, cameras, phones, etc.) Apparently it creates thermoelectric power to charge your devices, all you have to do is cook something or boil water.

Of course you need a stove or a fire to heat the pot and initiate the charging process, but if you're cooking something anyway it seems pretty convenient.

Interesting! And the link seems to be worth an investigation. Thanks for the suggestion. But first-time posters advertising a product must be placed in Un-approved Vendors Section. Please apply for a preferred vendors license within camping forums. This to protect the preferred vendors that camping forums already has. Thank you.

I've heard of another thing like you are talking about. It's called a biolite or something like that.

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not a vendor, I just thought it would be more helpful to post the link than just include the name in my post. Thank you for letting me know.

Internet links are fine once an individual has gone through the moderation period. If a link leads away from camping or seems not to work, etc....then that individual could have more serious consequences like being moved to the vendor section or their I.P. address might be banned. In my tenure as moderator, one individual was banned by mistake and that individual was a good Facebook friend as well. I'm just being careful.

Interesting. The Biolite that I think Shadow is talking about is a cook stove and can charge electronic devices. It seems pretty cool, but maybe a little bulky. I haven't used one though.

Hight-tech product. I think it more useful and convenient than solar power for campers. Thanks for sharing.
I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.
