Got a campfire pic you'd like to share, well here's a thread to share anything that has to do with a campfire. Remember keep your photos PG13 and we'll get along just fine. Since I started here's one of my most recent fires! Haha! Thanks for looking and hope to see yours soon.

My first "I did it all by myself" campfire. I was so relieved that I finally got one going.

Haven't tried that way, but sounds interesting. In movies, campfires are like that.
I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.

I've done it with a firesteel and tinder. Wasn't hard. As far as a bowdrill or fire plow... not yet but I will eventually as i progress with my bushcraft skills. There is definitely a science to it. It's not just sawing at it and praying.

Yeah - we were serious pyromaniacs back in the day. The original plan was to put ten oak pallets on the fire to see what happens. As it turns out, we'd put three pallets on and the tops of the trees were starting to smoke. The problem was, the heat was so bad, we had a hard time getting close enough to knock it down, even with a six foot pole. To get the picture with someone standing there to show the scale, he had to jump in *click* jump out.

I can't say we don't still like to burn a lot of wood, but we haven't smoked any treetops since then.

There is primal link between Man and Fire. Enjoy the Camping Fire with kids.
