This firepit was at the last lake I fished. Someone put a little work into this thing.

Lovely pics and you are right about that fireplace. I see an oven/broiler/smoker, grill space and firepit!

The shaded lake makes me want to get outside not now right now.

This was taken at Natural Bridges SP in Slade KY this summer...

Colorado last year. You can see the smoke from the forest fires and along the ridge only burned tree trunks.

Same trip...we took our Jeeps up into the mountains for a week. What a great trip...

Top of the mountain....Colorado up in the Ouray area...

Camp Nelson National Monument near Nicholasville, Kentucky. The property, including this house, was commandeered by Union troops during the Civil War. The resulting military camp was a large recruitment and training center for African American troops, and served as a refugee camp for the soldier's families. The linked page and placards on the site do not give a rosy impression of their treatment there, but the camp did house escaped slaves from more Southern states and played an important role in the Underground Railroad.

The park surrounding the house is beautifully maintained and very respectful as far as I could tell. There are interpretative walking paths through the park, and the Camp Nelson National Cemetery is a short drive from there if you want to pay your respects.
