  • How to Tie Those Pesky Guy-lines!

Every year this question is asked and it's worth repeating, cuz you just never know! Here's my $0.02:

Holding the plastic piece flat...Top of it we'll call North, bottom we'll call South.

Tent rope through the top hole (North to South)
Then through the second hole (South to North)
Then the rope goes around the stake
Then through the third hole(South to North)
Tie a knot after going through the third hole

Pull the slack through using the piece of rope between hole 1 and 2.

    Done! See it's that easy!

When you pound down your tent stakes, take a hammer, not a rock like a caveman. Don't put your stakes straight in at 90 degrees to the tent. An angle of 60% is good with the tip of the stake under the tent area. Good luck!

Ok, the basic knot is a tautline hitch. Google it and there will be a million demos. This little knot slides up and down the guyline and lets you tension it. Don't go camping without it. There is surprisingly little about those little three hole plastic tensioners.--JT

ID:	69335This is the best I can do. As seen in the pic, run the line in a "S" pattern through the cheap plasitc part. Note the knot in one end. Tie the other end to the tent. Pull a loop from the tensioner, just on the other side of the knot, and wrap that around your stake.

                Is that clear?

I swear, I should post a scout video online and see how many hits it gets.

                  Here's some help:

                  http://www.bigagnes.com/resources/do...UseGuyLine.pdf

JT...it would be great if you could upload a video showing what you have done. Your help is appreciated!
