  • Columbus Tents

Is anyone here familiar with Columbus Tents? Specifically the Commander? It is a 15 x17 3 room family tent. I can't seem to find out who makes it. The reason is it is 134.99 at a store near me. My wife saw a story on bedbugs in motels/hotels and has completely freaked out. That is just fine for me because it means CAMPING!!!!

    Here is the link.http://www.unclesams.com/Tents/Colum...1/Default.aspx

    Thank you for any information.

The more I looked at this tent the less I liked it. I think we are going with a Coleman Blue Springs Family Dome from Bass Pro for 79.94 during the Outdoor Classic May 21st-31st.

Having worked at Bass Pro for 2 summers I know what the 4 means on the end-discontinued. 8 means sale, like 98. Doubles 88, 77 66 are deep discounting. This tent is not even on the Coleman website.

There are other campers who might benefit from your question and my suggestions to this kind of tent. The thread will remain!

Hang on to your receipt and the empty box!!! If your new tent is anything like the Coleman Blue Springs Family Dome tent you were considering, you may want it for product return. It'll be a sweet discount when you find a better tent. :D

We did not purchase the Columbus (17x15). We did get the Coleman Blue Springs (17x10). It is set up like a rectangle, not a circle, so less wasted space. The Coleman is easy to put up and take down and it cost $60 less as it is on sale at Bass Pro until 5-31-2010. Being a Coleman lantern collector, I like the red and white logo too!
