  • Screen House

Hello, I am new to the forum and I hope this is the right place. I am looking to purchase a screen house that would go over a picnic table to keep it dry and also to keep out the skeeters. I am curious if anybody has had experience with a good one they would reccomend. I would like it to be easy to set up and well made. Any help would be appreciated.

We use the First Up Gazebo. We are located on the coast in SE Georgia, and camping can be miserable around here this time of year with the sand gnats and sketters. This would not be for backpack camping due to it being kinda bulky to carry. We went to Jekyll Island Campground this past weekend, and set it up over the picnic table and moved our chairs in also. Had plenty of room. Would not want to go camping without it. We got it at Wally for around $87.00 and the screen attachment around $30.00. Good investment for us!!!!!

Outstanding advice. I own one too and would not go camping without it. I purchased the screen and the wind curtains and it is as easy as eating to put up. Cannot be an easier brand out there.

We went camping last October and ended up in 4 inches of snow. We put up the First Up and installed the wind curtains on all 4 sides. We put a Coleman heater under the picnic table and we were warm especially considering the temps. In the summer, you can put up the screens and you are bug free. Its as important as our tent in being comfortable.

I got mine at Wally World as well and the paid the same as archbarb. The wind curtains were and additional 35.00 bucks. By owning both the screen and the wind curtains allows us the put up the wind curtain on the side of any nosey neighbors and screen on the other sides. All types of configurations that will make your camping even more fun.

Drop what you are doing and go get a First Up. You wont regret it I promise.

Yes, love mine. Took mine to Fort Pickens Florida. Mine is large enough to go around a picinic table. You always want a bigger one once you put it up. We put sand all around the inside flap to really seal it. Unfortuanately, the Mosquito's formed the shape of a hand, unzipped it, smacked me around, then left. Then I got the military Deet. Plus it rained like crazy. So I am a rain and chigger god.

I use the Trek canvas model, large tent 10' x 14', doors on both ends and is available with awnings. It's a little heavy and may not be as easy to setup as you need, had mine for over 5 years and i take it everywhere i go camping

thanks, after reviewing options i am leaning toward one made by eureka. I am not a big fan of their tents anymore, however I am not sleeping in the screen house.
